Installation

PSCF was designed to be used from the command line in a unix-like environment. It can be installed on either the linux operating system or on Mac OS X system. A working version of PSCF may be installed either by installing a precompiled binary executable or by compiling from source. Compiling from source can be also be carried out using either of two build systems, cmake or make.

Details for different methods of installation are given separately in the following pages, each of which includes instructions that are specific to specific operating systems and specific distributions of linux.
